Alicia J. Rose

Alicia J Rose has been photographing “fanciful humans” just about as long as she’s been tearing it up with her accordion as Miss Murgatroid. Born in LA, Rose has been steadily migrating her way up the west coast; first to San Francisco, then to Portland.
Photographing everything from bands (check out the portraits of Nada Surf on her site,) to chefs with pigs (for Elle magazine… err, just look on her site again,) to artists like Souther Salazar (shown,) Rose has quite a dynamic range of experience under her belt.
Rose counts herself as a contemporary crossover photographer and passionately strives to bridge the gap between commercial and fine art photography. In her own words, “Why can’t everything be fancy?” That’s a good query, and an outlook we feel she maintains throughout her photographic work.
