Keith Haring 50th Birthday Memorial Mural

For what would have amounted to legendary artist Keith Haring’s 50th birthday on May 4th, the Deitch Projects with the help of Goldman Properties, the Keith Haring Foundation and Gotham Scenics have reproduced one of Haring’s most stunning pieces in his illustrious career. The huge wall only lasted a few months before it was painted over but it would go down in art and neighborhood history as one of the most memorable works for its vivid colors and trademark Haring aesthetics. The wall was painstakingly redone via old archival photographs taken during the wall’s original inception in 1982. The wall will be on display from May 4th until December 21st at Houston St. and Bowery in New York.
